Shemhazai, the Whisperer

"Scion that is both horse and woman, wielding utter control over the souls that wander the underworld, in opposition to Igeyorlm the Martyr, scion of light. Though she once served the gods as a guardian, when Ultima announced her rebellion, Shemhazai went to her, whispering of the gods' hidden weaknesses. She then descended upon the land without leave of the gods, and taught men of destruction and evil. For this was she stricken down and bound."

The Esper of Soul, Shemhazai represents the Zodiac sign of Sagittarius, the Archer, with crossbow cannons mounted on her arms. From her power of Soul, her color sign is Pink.

After Zalera, Mateus and Ultima, someone asked me to make more Espers, and wondered if I'd be doing Shemhazai next - that someone wondered right, but then, if you know that 99% of my art is of female characters, it was pretty much a no-brainer, since only Ultima and Shemhazai are the only true female Espers (Mateus and Zalera may have female aspects, but they're both very much male). I've drawn her into an entirely new pose, but kept the crossbows pointed at the camera, at least I kept one, the other is slightly lowered.

Shemhazai represents the star sign Sagittarius, the crossbow cannons on her arms reinforce that fact, as do her horse-like apects. When confronted, Shemhazai adopts a random elemental weakness and defence, making element-imbued weapons a big risk, and loves hitting the party with Silencega and Syphon, either shutting down their magicks or draining their MP. Once the party is suitably defenceless, Shemhazai will hit them with Shock or Flare, smacking them around for heavy damage - this is made even worse by her Magick Chain ability, which eliminates her charge time to use magicks, letting her pummel the party even harder.

Once recruited, Shemhazai aids the party with her Devour Soul attack, which deals damage equal to Shemhazai's HP divided by a random number. Her deathblow ability is called Soul Purge, and is potentially one of the most damaging attacks in the entire game, but the factors it depends on are very radom. When she executes this attack, Shemhazai leaps off a cliff, fires her crossbows akimbo during a somersault, and lands as the enemy behind her is obscured by an exploding lightnihg storm.
